Such a Fun Time

Devin is so much fun these days. I know I keep saying that, but it is true. He is all smiles for us and total strangers. He just is an all-around happy kid. We really enjoying this age so much. And his little giggle just melts our hearts! He is very ticklish, so getting a chuckle is very easy!

Each day, Devin experiences something new and it is just a blast to watch. He is very, very close to crawling. I kept telling Rich that he was going to crawl before he got back from his backpacking trip, but Devin decided to hold out. We were talking yesterday about how we need to start baby proofing our home. I have a feeling he'll be into everything very soon.

Devin is also sleeping very well. Now that he can roll over, he has found new sleeping positions that make him so content. Most of the time, I find him on his side (just so darn cute). I'd say that he's been sleeping better for almost two weeks now. It is wonderful.

My Mom just sold her home, so we are getting ready to help with the final move. Devin will get to go swimming with his cousin while we are there, which should be fun. I am interested to see if he loves water like his daddy.

Hope you all have a wonderful Memorial Day weekend. Enjoy!

Eating - A New Adventure

Stacey was right...I can eat all by myself. Or at least some of it gets in my mouth. Picking up food is sooooo much fun as you can see!

James Is On My Trail

I better get crawling before James sees me.
Oh man...he's got me.
Look out!

Learning to Crawl

Hey - Look at me!
I've almost got this crawling thing down.
How cool. I can get up on my knees and look around at the same time.
Phew...hard work. Just need to figure out how to go forward now.

Specator Sport

Here is Devin hanging out at the Auburn triathlon finish line. Yeah. Here's Mady looking great as usual! Nice work!

Daddy's Little Helper

Devin thought he'd help daddy prepare for his backpacking trip!
I've got the pan...and a boot.
And here's the lid.
What else do we need?
Oh yeah. Something to hold the water.

Play Time

So happy!
And I can roll over on to my tummy too.

Happy Mother's Day - 7 Months Old

Happy Mother's day to all the amazing Moms out there! This is such a special day that I have come to appreciate even more this year. Today is also Devin's 7-month birthday. Time has sure flown by. Our little man is so much fun right now. His personality is starting to show through, which is fun to watch first-hand.

Devin is officially rolling over now. He really got the hang of it just this past week. Last night, was the first time he rolled over in his crib. Maybe now he'll put himself in that perfect sleeping position that will keep him content all night (one can hope right?). Devin is a big smiler, a chatter box, sits up all on his own, rolls over, and is about to crawl. He's figured out how to do the perfect push up and then pull his right knee in under his body. Instead of pushing himself backwards all the time, we are seeing some forward progression. He is very determined, so if you put a magazine or something really fun out front, you will see him work so hard to crawl that he breaks a sweat! I think another week or so and I'm sure he'll have it figured out. That reminds me...I need to get going on my baby proofing projects.

Devin has also started eating solid foods really well. And he'll drink out of a regular cup. So far, he's had peas, carrots, green beans, sweet potatoes, zucchini, bananas, avocado, applesauce, and pears. He really was not into the pureed food concept, so we have moved onto little pieces of soft food instead. He is a very happy camper now and will gobble up whatever you give him. He hasn't figured out how to pick up the super soft (and itty bitty pieces) on his own, so we are still feeding him by spoon or by hand. It will be fun to see him feed himself in the near future.

Devin's sleeping patterns have improved lately. He gets up at 1:30 a.m. and 5 a.m. pretty consistently. We are all business...a little food and back to bed. He used to have a feeding in between those two times, but he dropped that on his own which is great. He has quite the internal clock and wakes up at 6:30 a.m almost to the minute. I've been able to snuggle with him lately and get an extra hour...that is so nice.

Devin is still growing at a rapid pace. It seems like his hands and feet just went through a growth spurt. They look like little boy hands and feet versus those of a baby. He is wearing 12 - 18 month clothes. I've been buying 18 - 24 month clothes in shorts, because he needs the extra room for the belly and we don't have to worry about them being too long like we do with pants.

Here's a few cute pictures of our sweetie pie.

Cinco de Mayo

My new favorite toy ... a box!
Not only can I bang my hand on it, I can chew on it too!
Hey - Look at me.
And my two new bottom teeth.
