2 Month Checkup

Gavin had his 2 month pediatrician appointment yesterday and he smiled, laughed, and held his head really well for the doctor. He got rave reviews to say the least. He weighed in at 15 pounds, 6 ounces and was 25 1/4 inches long. That puts him in the 95th percentile for both weight and height. And his head was in the 50th percentile...his stats are just like Devin's at this age. Although Gavin weighs a few more pounds than Devin did. So, our baby boy Gavin is doing great!

He did get his first round of immunizations yesterday and he was pissed. He did not like any of it. He was fussy in the afternoon, but pretty much slept it all off and woke up super happy today. He did wake up a few times last night feeling a bit warm. But he seems totally back to normal today thankfully.

Gavin is continuing to be a good napper. I swaddle him up and put him down awake. He doesn't fuss or anything. Just drifts off to sleep on his own. And he naps for hours. I am sooooo blessed!

Devin is also doing great this week. He has not really fussed at all about going to "school" in the mornings. He has had a really good few days. And he gets a sticker to put on the fridge calendar every day he goes to school. He knows that is his reward for going. And the whole sticker thing is really helping believe it or not. Devin also has been swimming with Rich. He was going four feet under water with Rich to pick up some toys in the pool. Amazing. And he is not even three years old yet.

Pictures - 7 weeks

We finally took Gavin in for some pictures. We have been trying to go for three weeks, but the timing just didn't work out too well. So I say, "Better late than never." Bath Time

Here's a few pics of Gavin at 7 weeks old. He loves his bath.

Two Months Old

Gavin is two months old now and so much fun. He is laughing and smiling all the time. He really only gets fussy when he is tired or hungry. And it is funny how he gets more pissed for being tired than hungry. But a quick swaddle and pacifier and he conks out instantly. He's very easy to soothe thankfully.

I failed to post his stats after his two week appt. He was 9 pounds, 15 ounces and 22.75 inches long. I just weighed him at the two month mark and he was 14 pounds, 13 ounces. So, our little guy is not so little anymore. If he is sitting up, he looks like a buddha with all his roles. And he has two or three chins at any given moment. I just love the rolls.

Gavin has taken a big interest in looking at the ceiling fan and plants in the house. He also will sit under his play gym for a little while. He has figured out how to reach out and bump the monkey hanging on the play gym. I'm sure it won't be long before he grabs it.

Gavin is quite the sleeper. Yes!!!! He has been sleeping the night for a few weeks now. He goes down at around 8 or 9 at night and will sleep until 5 a.m. Then he'll eat and go back to sleep for a few more hours. I'm thrilled. When he wakes up in the morning, he's ready to start his day talking and chatting up a total storm. It is very cute. I do make sure I put Gavin down to sleep awake so he drifts off to sleep on his own. He also loves a good swadle. So, those two things combined have helped Gavin sleep the night. We also do the same thing with naps. He's pretty consistent taking a morning, afternoon, and evening nap for a few hours each time. We are soooo lucky. Devin was never a sleeper so I truely appreciate this.
